Litir
2003-2004
An installation for a dark space at SAFN, Reykjavik, Iceland.

A circular aperture of 200mm diameter is placed at seated eye level at the centre of a false wall constructed 300mm in front of an existing wall of the gallery.

A bench for viewing is placed opposite.

Technical Information
Illumination:

LED colour-changing lamps illuminate the rear wall of the inner
chamber

A single LED colour-changing floodlamp placed on the ceiling, above
the aperture, illuminates the main wall

Both sets of lamps cycle through the spectrum, but a time differential between the front and back cycle durations (6 minutes / 8 minutes) causes a gradual permutation of colour combinations to take place

Duration: 24 minutes

NOTE
The show was intended to have a run of 2 months, but was held over for a further 6 months by public demand
